Wagg is operated by Patrick Lynott, trading as Wagg ("Wagg", "we", "us"). We're the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. If you're a business using Wagg and entering your own clients' details, you're the controller of that data — see our Data Processing Addendum for how that works.
We collect information you give us directly, such as your name, email, phone number, and business details when you sign up, along with information you add to the app to run your business — client and pet records, bookings, invoices and expenses.
We also collect information automatically, including how you use the app, device and technical information, and — for financial features — data relating to payments and tax submissions.
We use your information to provide and improve the app, process payments, support HMRC tax submissions you choose to make, communicate with you about your account and the service, and keep the app secure and reliable.
We don't sell your personal data, and we don't use it for third-party advertising.
We share information with trusted service providers who help us run Wagg — including cloud hosting, payment processing, and email delivery providers — under agreements that require them to keep it secure and use it only for the purposes we specify. Where you use our Making Tax Digital features, relevant financial information is submitted directly to HMRC on your instruction.
We only share personal data outside the UK/EEA where an appropriate safeguard is in place, and we won't share it with anyone else except where required by law.
Your data is stored securely, using industry-standard encryption both in transit and at rest. We keep personal data for as long as you have an active account, and for a reasonable period afterwards to allow for account recovery. Financial records are kept for 7 years, in line with HMRC's record-keeping requirements — this applies even if you close your account.
You can ask us to delete your data at any time; we'll do so unless we're legally required to keep it.
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict how we use your personal data, and to ask for a copy of it in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Our website may use cookies for analytics purposes. Where it does, we'll ask for your consent first via a cookie banner.
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll let you know about any significant changes by email or in-app notice.
If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at hello@wagg-app.com.
